In 2015 Parma got the “Creative Culinary Art City” UNESCO title. Parma is the cradle of Food Valley and can count on a renown roster of food products that make it a top destination of culinary tourists.
In Parma, Reggio Emilia and Modena we can find the greatest production of typical cold cuts, Parmigiano cheese, pasta and vegetables reserves. Local people have a genuine attention for social initiatives and Parma proudly claims an old Solidarity tradition. Hence the idea to open a collecting centre to uphold the area and supply the other ACP's structures around Italy.

Current situations and future challenges

In some Italian areas, the unemployment rates are hitting 23% mark, while 40,1% of are young people are out of work (2016 ISTAT data). ISTAT has recently estimated that 4.742.000 people are living in absolute poverty. A material poverty often leads to a spiritual and moral poverty of the person, who ends up in a state of isolation. For those people being part of society becomes always harder. Challenges are copious and huge. ACP can't tackle them all, but decided to take action and give a contribution, upholding rooted local organizations.

Our concrete commitment

Information and rising-awareness campaigns to promote local companies products donations. Managing food donations addressed to our operative centers or ACP partners. We foresee companies food donations for 200.000 euro (annual value), against 26.000 operating costs.

Goals

Creating a collection and distribution centre supported by local companies through their goods donations. Raising private benefactors awareness so they can help to cover administrative and maintenance costs.
